looking for a

Plant Manager (Germany)

Job description:

  • Plan and organise work of production departments to ensure that objectives and targets are achieved at maximum efficiency and within budgeted costs
  • Assure the achievement of the BlueGEN® Quality standards according with the Assurance Quality Manager instructions
  • Oversee the production process and organize a production schedule, including amendments when required
  • Coordinate production planning, plant layout and quality control to support forecast volume
  • Coordinate supplies schedule to ensure timely product manufacture
  • Manage introduction of new products to the existing and/or new production lines in a lean manner  
  • Develop plans and actions for forecast volume growth in SPG
  • Estimate costs and resources to plan and support forecast production
  • Monitor product quality and implement and maintain control programs necessary to gain and sustain product certifications 
  • Assist with selection and training of production and manufacturing staff
  • In a growing team environment, strive to create and maintain a cohesive, dynamic and skillful team  where openness and respect for each other will be cherished  
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are enforced and compliant to in all areas of the production process
  • Undertake and enforce safe work practices

Qualification and Experience:

  • Tertiary technical qualification such as engineering, science or a related technical discipline
  • Strong track record in coordinating complex assignments within an industrial environment
  • Demonstrated experience in running a successful, harmonious production team
  • Sound people skills to communicate at all levels within the business
  • Sound experience in monitoring products standards and cost reduction programs
  • Advanced computer skills, with literacy in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
  • Driving license

Attributes:

The principal attributes required to be successful in this role will include:

  • Knowledge of all main Lean Manufacturing technicalities (Pull system, TPM, KanBan, Value Stream Analysis, etc.)
  • Strong organisational skills to manage a team and ensure maximum production efficiency
  • Strong technical skills with aptitude to quickly develop proficiency and understanding of SPG product features
  • Extensive experience in production processes and process control
  • Leadership and communication skills to effectively supervise a team of production and manufacturing professionals
  • Able to communicate effectively and concisely at all organisation levels from technical/production to senior management
  • Conflict management, decision making and negotiation skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing work priorities
  • Flexible in availability to contact staff in different time zones, for example between Europe and Australia
  • Ability to work effectively individually and also within a team environment
  • Sound multi-lingual oral and written language skills:
    Fluent in English and German, additional other European languages will be highly regarded
  • Strong commercial understanding of business requirements and the importance of key clients
  • Personal integrity and high ethical standards

Key Account Manager (UK)

Role:

Build and expand the current market for Fuel-cell micro CHP in the UK. The technology will be aimed at any SME or large residential building that is using in excess of 10,000 KWh of electricity per year.

The market is vast, retail has been successful in other parts of Europe, with both residential, SME as well as housing associations, housing developers and energy suppliers.

You’ll also be expected to expand the distribution and installer network across the UK.

The role will be home based with travel throughout the UK and occasionally other EU countries as required.

Skills:

  • Experience in selling renewable energy products such as solar,  small scale power generation units, micro CHP and heat pumps
  • A proven track record of sales success of 5 + years in relevant sectors / industries
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Self starter
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work from home with minimal supervision
  • Strong interest in the UK energy markets, with a particular emphasis on low carbon technologies

Remuneration:

A competitive base salary will be offered plus a lucrative commission structure.  The role will be offered on an initial 1 year fixed term contract.

This will be the groups’ second hire in the UK and offers a great chance to shape and build an organisation here in the UK.

With high temperature membrane reactors as core competence, the company works as SOLIDpower’s Innovation Technology Center. Located in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland, the company cooperates with many industrial and academic partners for the development of cost competitive energy conversion devices. Based on more than 15 years of dedicated research in the field of SOFC, HTceramix SA focuses its activities on market and product development, generating its revenues both through sales commission and engineering services. Its competence in system integration of the in-house developed SOFCpower module, the HoTbox™, gives it a competitive advantage when establishing partnerships with large OEM companies in the combined heat and power market.

 

Job description:

  • Lead the development of Fuel Cell Systems, from prototyping to improved versions, in alignment with the product specification and cost targets.
  • Accompany the technology transfer to pilot manufacturing facilities and to external partners.
  • Technical human resource management.
  • Technical key contact for international customers.
  • Maintain network with other experts inside and outside the company.
  • Permanent position.

 

Your profile:

  • Fuel cell & stack development Engineering (mandatory).
  • System Process Engineering.
  • Several years of international project management.
  • Deep knowledge of fuel-cell technology.
  • Strong experience in Industrial system process engineering.
  • Mechanical design knowledge.
  • Product and business development is an asset.
  • Good command of English. French, German and/or Italian is an asset.
  • Willing to travel.

 

Your tasks

  • Acts as owner of the definition of the technical specifications of innovative Fuel Cell
    systems.
  • Elaborate a strategy and options to realize the system targets and costs.
  • Implement the strategy together with allocated resources & suppliers, within the approved budget.
  • Define specifications for system control and gas treatment unit.
  • Provide expert input on specific technical requests.
  • Take action in case of deviation from plan. Management of unexpected and resolution of conflicts, including risk mitigation actions.
  • Actively contribute to the protection of the generated intellectual property.
  • Participate in the evaluation of the performance and personal progress of people working on same project.
  • Act as the company reference for reporting and communicating to the customers.
  • Participate to the writing of European projects proposals.
