We are looking for a

Chief Financial Officer (CFO),
Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland

Basic Function:

The chief financial officer position is accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the HTceramix company and the SOLIDpower group, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. Principal accountabilities are:

Planning:

  • Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
  • Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans
  • Develop financial and tax strategies
  • Manage the capital request and budgeting processes
  • Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction

Operations:

    Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
  • Manage the accounting, human resources, investor relations, legal, tax, and treasury departments
  • Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations
  • Manage any third parties to which accounting or finance functions have been outsourced
  • Oversee the company's transaction processing systems
  • Implement operational best practices
  • Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package
  • Supervise acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions

Financial Information:

  • Oversee the issuance of financial information
  • Review and approve all tax fillings of all subsidiaries
  • Report financial results to the board of directors

Risk Management:

  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
  • Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
  • Construct and monitor reliable control systems
  • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
  • Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
  • Report risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors
  • Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations

Funding:

  • Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
  • Arrange for debt and equity financing
  • Search for new funds
  • Act as Investor relationship Officer

Third Parties:

  • Participate in conference calls with the investment stakeholders
  • Maintain banking relationships
  • Represent the company with investment bankers and investors

Desired Qualifications:

The candidate must have a master's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business and position experience (as CFO) and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large international corporation. Experience in partnering with an executive team, and have a high level of written and oral communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA in Finance or a Certified Management Accountant designation. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. MS Dynamics NAV).

Additional Qualifications:

Very good command of English and Russian. French, German and/or Italian is an asset. Willing to travel.

Working Conditions:

Will work in an office environment. Extensive travel to company subsidiaries will be necessary, as well as for investor road shows.

In this role, the successful candidate will have the chance to help support the team that helps improve performance, management and costs of fuel cell systems globally. 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for an enthusiastic IT Support Officer to support and maintain the IT infrastructure of our predominantly Windows based environment. The successful candidate will have excellent English language communication skills both written and spoken and an ability to work proactively and independently. They will have a proven ability to manage time, solve complex problems and troubleshoot.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Supporting desktop computers running Microsoft based operating systems (Windows 7/10) in an Active Directory environment
  • The ability to perform basic consumable maintenance on printers
  • The ability to perform basic network maintenance such as patching of clients, fault-finding, active directory joining
  • The ability to source quotations for the purchase of new PC components and peripherals
  • Documenting processes and creation of work instructions to streamline future tasks
  • Setup and configuration of new PC clients, including application software, drivers, etc…

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or similar is preferred
  • 1-2 years support experience is preferred
  • Experience supporting a business network environment including various network devices and peripherals, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange

  • Some exposure to Active Directory
  •  Ability to occasionally work flexible hours either on-site or remotely

In this role, you will be a key player in managing a team in systems development, developing new products through to implementation, testing and commissioning to increase performance and reduce cost of fuel cell stacks and systems.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful applicants will be responsible for:

  • Lead and mentor the multidisciplinary engineering team's growth and success within the business including design, manufacturing, validation of subsystems and fuel cell systems as well as transfer to production. 
  • Being accountable as well as driving quality, cost, safety, timeliness and overall performance of projects.
  • Formulate the technical approach to the work to be performed
  • Assign and manage the resources to execute the engineering project   
  • Manage the project technical risk across all allocated engineering packages

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor or higher degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or engineering experience relevant to the duties mentioned above.
  • 10 years plus of industry experience in an engineering environment, ideally in design and development of heat exchangers/burners and steam generators for commercial small scale applications.
  • Demonstrated track record to lead, inspire and mentor a cross functional engineering team – fostering a high performance culture, based on trust, accountability and respect. 
  • Demonstrated track record in developing new high temperature (>750C) products (heat exchangers, steam generators, burners, etc.)
  • Demonstrated track record in applying fluid mechanics, heat transfer and thermodynamic principles to develop integrated systems
  • Experience in conducting HAZOP/FMEA
  • Experience in the field of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells and statistical knowledge will be a plus.
  • Experience with engineering modelling packages will be an advantage.

Key responsibilities and tasks:

  • Root cause analysis for SOFC systems and sub-components
  • Design, test, commission and document sub-systems used in SOFC
  • Design, test, commission and document test equipment used for testing systems and sub-systems 
  • Test, commission and document components and systems, including stack testing
  • Identify potential design and operation risks, advance possible solutions and cost-down strategies for product evolution
  • Utilise, support and extent the current quality management system, particularly with respect to issue-tracking, ECR/ECNs process and monitoring tools, in close collaboration with the Product Manager and QA
  • Site commissioning of special installations

Qualification and experience:

  • Bachelor or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering discipline with the experience relevant to the duties mentioned above
  • Ideally 2-5 years of industry experience in a relevant environment
  • Proficiency in commissioning of power conversion devices, root cause analysis, FMEA and CAD packages 
  • Good organizational and workshop practices
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software
  • Language: Fluent in English and German (preferably also Italian and/or French)
  • Experience in the field of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells will be an advantage

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Job description:

  • Mechanical design of Fuel Cell Systems and components, from prototyping to industrial production, in alignment with the product specification and cost targets.
  • In charge of the 3D drawings organization within the technical office. Product Data Management (PDM).
  • Construction and assembly of prototypes. Very good knowledge of mechanical parts is required. Close contact with suppliers.
  • Technical product development & improvement in close relationship with the production sites. 
  • Technical support to other divisions within the group.
  • Permanent position.

Your profile: 

  • Mechanical Engineer (HES or equivalent), ideally with proven experience in Fuel cell development. 
  • Perfect command of 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks 2017).
  • Good knowledge of Physics principles of Mechanics and thermal exchanges. 
  • Good knowledge of water and gas piping systems and sealing is an asset. 
  • A first experience of at least 12 months in mechanical development is required.
  • Good knowledge of English and French.
  • Willing to travel.

Your tasks:

  • Perform 3D conception and nomenclature management of fuel cells systems. Write the assembly instructions (in English, ideally also in German). 
  • Make the production and maintenance tools conception for complex systems.
  • Perform preliminary mechanical and thermal calculations.
  • Assemble, test and validate the first prototypes and test benches.
  • Technology transfer to the production.
  • Technical support for assembly in Germany or Italy.
  • Create the P&ID and the HMI knowledge of the ERP (Navision).
  • Manage the PDM (Ready2Works or equivalent) and the technical office.
  • Requests quotation to suppliers and follow up the purchase order. Look for new suppliers.
  • Commissioning of systems in field can be occasionally required.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Engineer to design and develop embedded applications in Fuel Cell systems.  The successful applicant will be expected to contribute in the following areas:

 

  • Design of electronic hardware, software and test apparatus to work in fuel cell power supply applications 
  • Documentation and maintenance of hardware and software functionality 
  • Development of verification plans and quality assurance procedures 
  • Evaluation of systems with recommendation to modify or repair hardware and/or software. 
  • Scope includes communications, signal processing, control systems and adherence to industry standards.
  • Write efficient software suitable for deployment on resource constrained embedded microprocessors.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 

 

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic engineering or equivalent 
  • Proficiency with the C programming language. 
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software 
  • The role should suit graduates and those with a couple of years' experience.

Whilst not essential, the following experience would be highly regarded 

  • Experience with Altium PCB design tools or similar. 
  • Experience with Assembly Languages. 
  • Familiarity with Linux development environments.
