SOLIDpower Group is setting itself up for the future, and to support its expansion strategy, the company is making a new appointment in a key role: with effect from 1 April 2019, Gerald Neuwirth will be the new Chief Sales Officer (CSO) and Managing Director of SOLIDpower GmbH (Germany). He is succeeding Andreas Ballhausen, who has taken a decision to leave the company effective from 31 March 2019, in order to dedicate himself to new professional challenges. SOLIDpower would like to thank Andreas Ballhausen for his commitment, which has helped the company reach its leading position in the German market for innovative fuel cell technology that it enjoys today. In terms of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) for efficient power and heat production, SOLIDpower is the market leader in Europe and will be even more active worldwide in the future.
Gerald Neuwirth as CSO for further expansion
Gerald Neuwirth will take over the management of the German company SOLIDpower GmbH and the role of the CSO within SOLIDpower Group with effect from 1 April 2019. He will devote intensive attention to the development of new international sales markets and drive the global expansion of SOLIDpower. Currently, production capacities are being massively expanded at several sites of the Group, to enable it to best serve the fast-growing market for SOFC fuel cells with highly advanced technology and higher manufactured volumes in the near future.
International marketing and sales
Neuwirth has many years of experience in international marketing and sales, as well as in business development. He has held various management roles at market-leading technological and industrial companies. His professional history includes developing a successful career with Siemens in Germany and Austria, and with Sony. Neuwirth, 49, is a qualified business economist specialising in marketing and organisation; he completed his studies in Linz, Austria, and London, United Kingdom.
Dynamic development expected
Andreas Pichler, member of the SOLIDpower Supervisory Board, explains: “The fuel cells market has now reached a phase where we are set for a dynamic development in the next several years. Given the market trends and future requirements in the energy sector, fuel cells and technologies from SOLIDpower will play their important role. We are increasingly focused on the European market. Together with Gerald Neuwirth as a new CSO we will be able to deliver our new commercial strategy and grow our business in Europe on particular.”
